Plymouth-based Stem Group, a major business technology, IT support & services provider in the South West is delighted to announce that it’s secured an investment of £500k from ITEC Group – the region’s market leaders in managed print services and document workflow solutions.

James Arscott, Stem Managing Director: “We are very proud of the service Stem provides to our clients, our strong reputation, and the team we have built over the past 8 years. This ITEC investment will allow us to continue developing our IT, Cloud, Telephony and business continuity services. It also gives us direct access to ITEC’s 2,500 strong client base and the opportunity to grow in new market sectors and a broader South West geography.”

The UNA Group and James Arscott remain as the majority shareholders, but the investment from ITEC will allow Stem to make further investment in their IT Services and growing their team of IT Analysts and Technicians. Stem has over 100 clients including major organisations in Plymouth - the National Marine Aquarium, Brittany Ferries, Theatre Royal and KPM.

Nick Crawford, Information Systems Manager KPM: “Having worked with both companies now for several years I believe our relationships have gone from strength to strength. Both Itec and Stem continually strive to help KPM improve, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.”

In addition to its Plymouth office, ITEC has offices in Bristol, Exeter, Bournemouth, London and Truro with 126 staff servicing its customers across the region.

Dave Young, Group MD of The Una Group: “We have exciting times ahead! James and his team have delivered exceptional performance over the past year and I have been looking for the right partner to give them a springboard for the business. James and I believe in strong, long lasting relationships. ITEC has been in the South West for 26 years and share common values of innovation, integrity, customer service and strong community engagement in all the areas where they are represented.”

Stem’s partnerships with major technology providers such as Dell, Aruba and Pure Storage has driven much of its recent success and it still boasts the only full service IT Disaster Recovery centre in Devon and Cornwall.

Nick Orme, CEO of ITEC: “Work isn’t a place any more, it is a presence. It should be the ability to perform tasks with equal effectiveness from a car, a train, a café or home – through multiple devices and with instant access to all the information you require and with the certainty that your IT environment is robust and your data is secure. Mobile, collaborative working is the future for all businesses and Stem has demonstrated to us that it has the infrastructure, skills and appetite to deliver true workplace transformation for our clients who are eager to adopt these new ways of working.”
